As Principal of Invenio Consulting, Tom McCaughtry has 20+ years of experience specializing in immuno-oncology and autoimmune diseases – including over 13 years of biotherapeutic drug discovery experience at large pharma, biotech, and start-up settings.

Tom has a proven track record of adeptly leading/overseeing discovery program teams from target ID through candidate nomination and IND-enabling activities. Over his career, he has demonstrated his ability to navigate the nuanced complexity of drug discovery utilizing CROs, as well as the skillful art of stakeholder management; including leadership teams, executive officers, board of director members, investors and partners.

In addition to his discovery expertise, Tom also has extensive experience working with translational teams and has deep understanding of what it takes to deliver novel drugs to patients.

Tom lives and works out of Boston, MA. Most recently, he was Vice President, Head of Research at Incendia Therapeutics (formerly known as Parthenon Therapeutics), and before that he had a number of roles of increasing seniority at various biotechs and pharma including Pfizer, MedImmune/AstraZeneca, KSQ Therapeutics, and Omega Therapeutics. Tom earned his PhD from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities and did postdoctoral research at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD.

My passion for immunology began in grad school and fuels my drive, as I work to unlock the intricate ways our immune system can be harnessed to fight illness and disease.
